How it Works:

Thyroid Care is formulated to provide targeted support for the thyroid gland. A healthy thyroid gland is important for proper metabolism and immune system function. This formula provides iodine and l-tyrosine, which are required by the thyroid in order to synthesize thyroid hormones.

Iodine 
Iodine intake is required for the synthesis of thyroid hormones.* Low iodine intake, or iodine deficiency, is associated with hypothyroidism. The median US urinary iodine excretion fell from 320 mcg/d to 145 mcg/d between the early 1970s and the early 1990s and some subsets of the population may be at increased risk for moderate iodine deficiency. This reduction may be related to changes in dietary choices and increased avoidance of salt (the primary dietary source of iodine). ^1-3 Thyroid Care contains three types of iodine, which helps provide support beyond thyroid concerns as well:

Molecular iodine 
A review paper examining results obtained in studies of breast health noted that while all forms tested (molecular iodine, sodium iodide and potassium iodide) produced beneficial effects, the best results for breast support were achieved with iodine.*⁴

Sodium and Potassium iodide 
Potassium and sodium iodide are the forms of iodine utilized by the thyroid. Iodine is an essential component of thyroid hormones. Supplemental iodide is important for optimal thyroid function.*^5-7

L-tyrosine 
L-tyrosine is the precursor for the formation of the thyroid hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3), as well as epinephrine, norepinephrine and dopamine.*⁸

How it Works:

Q: How does hair grow?
