*IN VITRO TESTING
L2 cells were exposed to 2.5% Essential GSH® and intracellular glutathione was measured after 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, and 4 hours. Intracellular glutathione content was measured via the spectrophotometric recycling assay, normalized to total cellular protein.

Results clearly indicate that intracellular glutathione levels increased after exposure to Essential GSH®, peaking at 2 hours with over a 2-fold increase. The transient action of the increased glutathione remains unknown, although repression of the endogenous glutamate-cysteine ligase (GCL) enzyme through GSH-feedback inhibition may be a likely reason.

WHAT IS A LIPOSOME AND HOW DOES IT WORK?Derived from lecithin, a liposome is a microscopic fluid-filled pouch with walls identical to the phospholipids that make up the human cell membranes.
The outer wall of the liposome is fat soluble-while the inside is water-soluble. This combination enables liposomes to be readily absorbed, allowing for systemic availability of the water-soluble materials that would otherwise not be absorbed into the body.
The administering of therapeutic compounds via liposomal technology has been effective in many areas.

1. Are there any side effects with glutathione?
Glutathione side effects are rare, although highly sensitive patients should consult with a healthcare professional before introducing any new supplement into their diet.
2. Can someone with soy allergies take EssentialPRO™ and Essential GSH®?
Yes. The phosphatidylcholine used in EssentialPRO™ and Essential GSH® is derived from soy. However, the allergenic soy protein is removed prior to manufacturing. The base is then tested to verify that the allergenic portion has been removed.
3. Should EssentialPRO™ and Essential GSH® be refrigerated?
Refrigeration of either product is optional. However, some consumers find that the refrigeration of Essential GSH® improves the overall taste.
4. Does EssentialPRO™ and Essential GSH® contain non-GMO liposomes?
Yes. The purification process used in the production of the liposomes in EssentialPRO™ and Essential GSH® eliminates any GMO residues, leaving no GMO traces in either product.
5. How should I take EssentialPRO™ and Essential GSH®?
They are best taken on an empty stomach if tolerated or with a light meal if needed.
6. Why does Essential GSH® have a sulfurous smell?
Glutathione is a biologically active sulfur tripeptide and therefore, will have a slight sulfur smell. The glutathione in this product is encapsulated in liposomes, which minimizes exposure of the sulfur.
7. Can someone with intestinal yeast overgrowth take EssentialPRO™ and Essential GSH®?
Essential Nutraceuticals recommends that patients have their physicians treat their yeast overgrowth prior to any oral glutathione supplementation, as glutathione can sometimes worsen the symptoms.
